The Stillwater Indoor Sports Training Program was created and designed to fill La Plata County’s need for a top-quality facility for local outdoor sports teams and individuals to train in the off- and pre-season. The 10,000-square-foot facility is covered features the finest artificial turf in existence – the same turf used in many NFL and NCAA indoor facilities. This allows for indoor soccer, baseball, softball, lacrosse and even golf training on a surface that more closely matches the real grass fields and courses played on in-season, giving players the “feel” of grass and reducing the risk of injury.
A full-size batting cage, two pitching machines (both equipped for baseball and softball), soft-toss nets, pitching practice tunnels, and hitting tees make this La Plata County’s premier baseball and softball practice complex.
A wide-open “grassy” field gives soccer and lacrosse teams plenty of room for effective off-season practice.
In addition, leagues are offered for 3-on-3 adult and 4-on-4 youth indoor soccer, adult and youth dodgeball and even adult and youth Whiffle ball! Baseball skills camps will be offered all summer, as well. The goal at Stillwater is to put La Plata County’s outdoor sports teams on a more level playing field with their competitors where weather and lack of facilities is not a factor.
